If you intend to fundraise for the Burma Campaign and gain sponsorship, to make it easier you can set up your own personalised webpage.
This is simple to do all you need to do is follow the instructions here
Then you need to promote your fundraising via this webpage
1. Send the weblink around to all your colleagues and friends by email
Make a personal appeal from you to support your run for the Burma Campaign. Perhaps send it first to people who you know will be the most generous so that they set the level of donation for others to follow.
Send thank yous to the donors and ask them if they will send it out to their contacts too.
2. A month later - send the weblink around to those who haven’t made a donation
3. A week before the event - ask them again. It’s up to you how many times you feel you can ask people - perhaps once is appropriate

Just Walk 2010 for the Burma Campaign
In May this year supporters of the Burma Campaign UK along with those from a wide variety of campaigns and charities took part in Walk 2010.
“I did the 10K sponsored walk on Saturday. I have raised £269. I really enjoyed the walk. What lovely scenery! The weather was great too. It was all really nicely organised with the lady doing the warm up exercises at the beginning and the refreshments and medical facilities. How nice of them to have a live band playing at the finishing line! Thank you for organising the walk”

Organise an event
Organise a Fundraising Dinner for Burma
Holding a dinner can be an important campaigning and fundraising event. A way to inform your guests about the situation in Burma and to raise much needed funds to support the Burma Campaign UK. Your support will help us to work for democracy and freedom for the Burmese people.
We will send you advice which is based on the successful dinner recently held by the Jersey Action 4 Burma group. They managed to raise a fantastic total of £1,861 for Burma Campaign UK. Vitally important funds for our campaigning work.
The advice will detail how they planned the event – all straightforward and common sense, but our fundraising dinner guide will just help you think what you can do to stage a successful dinner.
