The Real Disaster in Burma
As cruel as nature has been to the Burmese people, what happened to them for decades under military rule is even worse. Villages destroyed, millions displaced, the poor starving. That was everyday life in Burma before the Cyclone. In a country where rape is used as a weapon of war, thousands are forced into slavery and dissent can mean death, its people cannot speak out.
